Since 1976, the Nelson Environment Centre has worked to help Nelson Tasman to live more sustainably, and provide tangible action-based solutions to issues facing our community.
As Aotearoa New Zealand's oldest environment centre, we’re passionate about providing waste minimisation resource recovery, and accessible / sustainable choices - real solutions for real people, that can be actioned in everyday life. At the heart of our organisation, “Repair, ReUse, Recycle” is our mantra. We deliver social and environmental impact through our programmes: the ReUse Shops, E-Waste Recycling, Kai Rescue, and our Hapori Fruit & Veg Box initiative. We are also currently in the process of collaborating with our local council to deliver a programme for construction waste & recycled building materials
